Question:
Hello. I am planning a trip to San Francisco next week and I am extremely excited to go to the Golden Gate Park with my husband. I was curious about the admission fees for the Japanese Tea Garden as well as the Botanical Garden and Conservatory of Flowers.
I am trying to put together a budget and I don’t want to have any sudden prices surprises. We will possibly be taking a cable car or street car from Union Square. Do you have any recommendations for transportation from that area to the park? Any information would be appreciated.
Answer:
The admission prices for the attractions you mentioned are:
Conservatory of Flowers
For non-residents, $7 (Adults)
$5 (Youth ages 12-17, Seniors age 65 & over)
$2 (Children ages 5-11)
Children ages 4 and under are free.
The Conservatory is free to all visitors on the first Tuesday of each month.
Botanical Garden
$7 (Adults)
$5 (Youth ages 12-17, Seniors age 65 & over)
$2 (Children ages 5-11)
$15 for Families (2 adults and one or more children)
Japanese Tea Garden
You can save money by visiting the Tea Garden before 10 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – it is actually free before this time. All other days the entrance fee is as follows:
Adult: $7 (Non-Residents)
Senior (65+) and Youth (12-17): $5 (Non-Residents)
Child (5-11): $2 (Non-Residents)
Child (4 and under): Free
When traveling from Union Square, I would suggest taking the N-Judah from the underground Muni Metro station at Powell and Market Streets.
Hope you enjoy your visit.
