Is the Admission to the Botanical Gardens free?

Question:
My small family just move to the bay area and we visited San Francisco for the first time today. We came to the golden gate park to check out the children’s playground and the botanical gardens. I looked at your website before hand to get all the information we needed and it said that both these activities would be free.

We were very happy with the children’s playground, you guys have done a great job there.

We were disappointed, however, when we found out that the botanical garden was not actually free, but was $7 per person. I was frustrated because I checked your official website before going, and the girl at the ticket office said that it had been that way for a year.

Not updating your website after a year seems a little unreasonable. And maybe if the admission had only be a dollar or two it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal, but to jump from free to $7 seems a bit steep.

It seems fair to charge non residents for admission to the gardens, but you should definitely update your website so that people like me don’t come away disappointed.

Answer:
I am sorry for your experience. We have corrected this information on the site.
