Wondering what steps must be taken for 60+ college group to have a event in the park?

Question:
My name is Nitisha Patel and I am a senior at Dr. TJ Owens Early College Academy in Gilroy.

There are sixty five seniors in our class and would like to have a picnic in the Golden Gate Park as a senior class event.

I was wondering what steps must be taken for a group as large as this one and how much it would cost. Please get back to me when you can. Thank you.

Answer:

If you want to reserve a specific area in Golden Gate Park, there are permit fees to pay and reservations to make according to the number of people and other details. Information (such as fees, rules and regulations) for family, schools and non-profit organizations is found here:

When you have your plans set for the reservation, please make it through San Francisco Recreation & Parks by calling (415) 831-5510 or (415) 831-5500. You may also place a walk-in reservation by visiting the Pioneer Log Cabin (2 Stow Lake Drive in Golden Gate Park) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
